When a woman is facing an unplanned pregnancy, she faces a range of emotions as she figures out her plan of action. She may choose a non-surgical abortion, known as the abortion pill. This type of abortion consists of 2 pills, one taken approximately 24-48 hours after the first pill. Sometimes, after taking this first pill, a woman regrets her choice, realizing that she is ending her pregnancy. There is a way to potentially save the baby. This procedure is known as Abortion Pill Reversal (APR). This reversal treatment consists of a hormone called progesterone. This is a hormone necessary to help a pregnancy grow. Giving a high dose of progesterone can sometimes reverse the effects of the first abortion pill, which blocks progesterone from providing the nutrients to the pregnancy. Starting the APR within the first 24 hours of taking the first abortion pill is recommended, however, there have also been many successful reversals when treatment was started within 72 hours. Initial studies have shown a 64-68% success rate using APR.
Perhaps you have taken the abortion pill and are now regretting your choice.
